About

Hi there, I’m Adam Beauferris. Thanks for dropping by!

For the past two years, I’ve been working as a Software Developer at the University of Calgary, collaborating with the Food, Policy, and Health group to develop research tools. Graduating with distinction from the University of Calgary in the summer of 2023 was a significant achievement for me. During my undergraduate years, I discovered I had a particular interest (and a slight knack) in discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science. Perhaps it’s because I value simple approaches; I’ve found that clear, first-principle thinking is rewarded in these fields. That’s not to say that simple == easy. If university taught me anything it’s that the simple approach often demands a deep understanding of the underlying problem; nothing worthwhile comes without effort.

I’m particularly drawn to problems that challenge me to ask interesting questions and seek out innovative solutions. Luckily, software development provides ample opportunities for this kind of problem solving.
